Georgia Congressman John Lewis Compares John McCain to George Wallace

The Democrats love to talk about about race and are quick to brand their opponents as racists. Well, John Lewis (D-Georgia) is at the very least a race-baiter and at the worst, he’s a racist, in my opinion.
It seems as though Congressman (and I use that title sarcastically) Lewis thinks Senator McCain is a lot like former Alabama Governor George Wallace:
“What I am seeing reminds me of too much of another destructive period in American history,” Lewis said in a statement released to FOX News. “Senator McCain and Governor Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse.”
“George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights,” Lewis added. “Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.”
He then accused McCain and Palin of “playing with fire” in a way that “disregards the value of the political process and cheapens our entire democracy.”
Lewis is a disgusting excuse for a Civil Rights icon. To put this race-baiter in the same category as Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. is despicable and is now unacceptable in my opinion.
I have used this quote before and I will use it again here:
There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the
troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the
public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of
their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising
their wrongs - partly because they want sympathy and partly because it
pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his
greivances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.
Those are the words of Booker T. Washington and they more than accurately describe John Lewis, Jesse Jackson, Andrew Young, et. al.
So what does Senator Obama have to say about Lewis’ comparison?
In a statement, Obama-Biden spokesman Bill Burton writes that, while Obama does not agree with the comparison of McCain’s campaign to those of segregation advocate George Wallace, he does believe that Rep. John Lewis is justified in his condemnation of “the hateful rhetoric that John McCain himself personally rebuked just last night,” as well as Palin’s assertion that the candidate “pals around with terrorists.”
Oh, what a condemnation–not.
Let me translate: the Obama campaign pretty much agrees with the comparison. Anyone really surprised?
Folks, this election has indeed become racially charged, but I ask you, Who are the ones constantly bringing it up? Why it’s those self-proclaimed color-blind Democrats.
