The Truth About Homeland Security Nominee Janet Napolitano’s anti-Illegal Immigration Record
The Barack Hussein Obama and the Mainstream Media are trying to pass Homeland Security nominee Janet Napolitano off as some kind of a hawk on illegal immigration.
Surprise, surprise. She’s not.
American Spectator’s Rachel Alexander has written a great article illuminating the truth about her overall record, but specifically on illegal immigration:
Although Arizona has the highest rate of illegal immigration in the country, and the highest number of illegal immigrants proportionate to the general population of any state, Napolitano vetoed seven bills as governor that would have cracked down on illegal immigration. She supported drivers’ licenses for illegal immigrants, and took away funding from Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio that he was using to enforce illegal immigration laws. She opposes a border fence, laughingly dismissing it, “you show me a 50 foot fence, I’ll show you a 51 foot ladder.”
Napolitano has made only two symbolic efforts to combat illegal immigration, repeatedly touted by her proponents as evidence she is tough on illegal immigration. The first was sending the National Guard to the border, which she was forced into doing after first vetoing a bill ordering her to. She initially tried to get out of it by claiming it was the federal government’s responsibility to fund the National Guard at the border. Ultimately she sabotaged the effort by limiting the role of the National Guard to administrative functions, not illegal immigration law enforcement.
Napolitano’s second symbolic measure against illegal immigration involved Arizona’s employer sanctions law. When it was first passed by the legislature in 2006, Napolitano vetoed it, claiming it wasn’t tough enough. At the time, everyone knew it was unlikely because she had vetoed every other law against illegal immigration. So the legislature called her bluff. The next year, it passed a tougher version of the bill, and anti-illegal immigration activists circulated an even tougher ballot measure in case she vetoed it. Considering Arizona voters passed four anti-illegal immigration measures with over 70% approval in 2006, Napolitano was trapped and forced to sign it, giving Arizona the toughest employer sanctions law in the nation.
Don’t believe the misinformation put out by Obama and the media. This woman will do absolutely nothing to help quell illegal immigration. The thought of how much damage this woman can do at Homeland Security is utterly frightening. She’ll make current Secretary Michael Chertoff seem like an anti-illegal immigration stalwart.

I question Janet myself. She seems to want these ILLEGAL ALIENS in this Country and make America a third world country like mexico. Why? I don’t know. Now, may I say this?
I can’t say the ILLEGAL ALIENS are completely to blame for the shape of our economy, but they are a BIG part of the problem. The ILLEGAL ALIENS send BILLIONS upon BILLIONS out of this Country every year, money we will NEVER see again. Does this help our economy?
How about the BILLIONS the American taxpayers fork out for the ANCHOR BABIES, the schooling of them, the medical care and the list goes on, and on, and on.
How about the MILLIONS upon MILLIONS paid to jail ILLEGAL ALIENS for the crimes, then the cost to deport them. Does this help our economy?
Then you have these so called activist groups that want AMNESTY for these ILLEGAL ALIENS. It would be absolute suicide for this Country if AMNESTY were granted to the 20 million or so ILLEGAL ALIENS. We have more and more people out of work everyday and they want to add another 20 million to this Country? I say, “NO”!
If AMNESTY were ever granted to these 20 million ILLEGAL ALIENS, you can bet big money that 3 years from now, there would be ANOTHER 3-5 million ILLEGAL ALIENS demonstrating on our soil for AMNESTY. I don’t wish to lose my privilege on this site, so I will refrain from using the words that fit here.
An end MUST come to this illegal immigration. The best tool we have so far is E-Verify. It MUST be used on ALL businesses and Government Social Services. EVERY employee must be checked! If they are illegal, they are to be dismissed and deported!
I believe it is time for all 50 States to pass a State law, like Arizona, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina and a few others. It is time for these ILLEGAL ALIENS to go back to their home Country and get out of this Country. The problems they are causing will not go away until the ILLEGAL ALIENS are out of this Country.
NO ILLEGAL ALIEN HAS A RIGHT TO BE IN THIS COUNTRY!
