Harry Reid: Don’t Call It Nationalization

So, you want to know how I know America is becoming nationalized, you know, other than the fact that it just is? Because Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) says we shouldn’t call it nationalization:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he supports efforts of the federal government to dramatically expand its stake in Citigroup, but wants people to back off from the dramatic rhetoric.

“It’s not nationalization, it’s protecting the taxpayers’ interests,” Reid (D-Nev.) told MSNBC’s Morning Joe program on Monday.

“In the bailout, the TARP, that we made sure the American taxpayer had a way of getting paid back for their investments,” Reid said. “That’s what this is all about and it’s the right way to go.”

“It’s not nationalization, it’s protecting the taxpayers’ interests?” Are you kidding me? That statement insults my, and every educated American’s, intelligence. We know what nationalization is, Harry, and this is it.

Where is the outrage over this statement???

Hmmm. The Government takes partial ownership of something, but it’s NOT nationalizing it? I guess that’s the new pattern now. It WON’T be the (un)fairness doctrine, it will be called something else. It WON’T be socialized medicine, it’ll be called something else. It WON’T be gun confiscation, it’ll be called something else. I wonder how long they count on the “sheeple” NOT figuring this out?
