OK to Bash Christianity and Insult Christians, but not Islam and Muslims
In Hollywood it’s hip to insult Christians by defiling symbols of Christianity:
Comedian Larry David is under attack from critics who say he pushed the mocking of religion and Christian belief in miracles over the edge in the latest episode of his HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
On the show’s most recent installment, which aired Sunday, David urinates on a painting of Jesus Christ, causing a woman to believe the painting depicts Jesus crying.
Imagine if this had been a symbol of Islam. It’s actually hard to imagine because we know it would never be done. The media have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to offending Muslims.
Christianity? Judaism? Mormonism? Hinduism? They’re all available for bashing.
Islam? Nope. It’s off the table. We must be ultra-sensitive and sympathetic to Muslims as a result of 9/11. We must spare their feelings.
What a disgusting double standard.

@ Matt: Because the “religion of peace,” it turns out, isn’t so peaceful (at least not by some of its practitioners). They have successfully intimidated the media (not that that’s difficult).
It really is interesting that Islam is the untouchable religion while every other one is fair game.
You’re kidding, right? Also ponder the comparison between how much Islam gets bashed and how much Christianity gets bashed. One would be an idiot to deny how much Islam is bashed in the Christian world.
And about the “religion of peace”: Indeed Islam is a religion of peace. Give me examples of when Muslims are not being peaceful….9/11? Taliban? Those are not true followers of Islam. If you ask any true follower of Islam, we would say NO that is not cool what those “muslims” did. Give me examples of when Christianity is not being peacefull….ohhhhhhh damn do NOT get me started. Salem witch trials? Hitler? Your “red cross” and other missionaries going to Africa and kidnapping innocent hildren?

Did you really just imply Hitler was Christian? He was heavy into the occult, Elsa. Nice try, though. It’s people like you who try convince us that Hitler was a right-leaning fascist when, in fact, he was an uber-socialist. Nazi= National Socialist Party.
Makes one think, doesn’t it? Why show total hatred towards “oppressive” Christianity, while embracing truly oppressive religion such as the “religion of peace?”
