Rep. Joseph Cao (R-LA): You’re not a Republican. Please leave the Party
I knew Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao wasn’t a conservative when I read an interview with him condemning conservative radio host Michael Savage as “anti-immigrant” and “almost racist.” The interviewer posed statements about illegal immigration that Savage made on his radio show and wanted Cao to respond.
Here’s his response:
You know, the Republican party should not have those kinds of views that you just conveyed. A statement like that would be very anti-immigrant, almost to me borderlining to almost being racist, if you ask me. So I take that statement as being quite repulsive, if you ask my opinion. So I hope that the GOP will not tolerate those kinds of views and will not take those positions.
So we know Cao isn’t a conservative. We now know that’s he’s not even a Republican.
How do we know this? Because he was the lone Republican to vote for the Democrats’ socialized medicine bill late last night. A bill which makes it mandatory for 96% of the population to buy medical insurance or face civil and criminal penalties, including fines up to $250,000 and even jail time.
If Cao isn’t a conservative, or even a Republican, what is he? He’s a cowardly liberal. Why is he a coward? Because he ducked out of the House floor immediately after the vote, ostensibly not wanting to answer questions on his vote.
You’re a liberal, Rep. Cao. So please either switch parties or run as a Democrat next time. Thank you.
