Why Doesn’t Chairman Obama Want Congress to Investigate the Ft. Hood Terrorist Attack?

It’s widely known now that the Obama administration is staunchly opposed to congressional investigations of the Ft. Hood terrorist attack. Only Sen. Lieberman’s investigation is moving forward.

Why is the Obama administration worried about Congress’s investigations?

Is the administration engaged in a cover-up? Are they attempting to distort the facts in such a way so as to convince that the terrorist (in my opinion) Maj. Hasan suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) even though he hadn’t been on a single tour of duty yet?

Are they trying to find ways to downplay the involvement of his Islamic faith? This, to me, is what’s going on here. Chairman Obama quickly came out and attempted to discourage us from “jumping to conclusions” about Hasan’s motive. We also have SecDef Robert Gates refusing to call the actual massacre a terrorist attack. Joint Chiefs Chairman Mike Mullen is dutifully participating in the PR game by opining that the military’s “diversity” is its strength.

To me it’s clear: The Obama administration is trying to buy time to fabricate their own version of what occurred. They want to everything in their power to mitigate the public’s increasing perception that:

  1. Islam play an integral role; and
  2. It was indeed a terrorist attack

That’s my opinion. What’s yours?
