Pentagon refuses to acknowledge the involvement of political correctness in Ft. Hood terrorist attack
Civilian and military brass at the Pentagon want you to believe that the terrorist attack (oh wait, they won’t even call it a terrorist attack) was the result of negligence by Maj. Nidal Hasan’s superiors in the Army. As I’ve written about before, the attack wasn’t the result of negligence, it’s the result of radical Islam (Islamo-fascism) and political correctness.
A couple of terrorism experts are echoing my take on this:
Patrick S. Poole, a counterterrorism consultant to government and law enforcement, said the Pentagon report did not address the problem of political correctness in the military “that allowed for Maj. Hasan’s continued rise despite his poor performance.” Mr. Poole said an “atmosphere of intimidation” exists in the military regarding Islamist threats that “prevented any substantive complaints to [Maj. Hasan's] increasingly extremist statements.”
“Everyone along the way was content to give him a pass,” Mr. Poole said.
Terrorism expert Steve Emerson, a frequent guest on The Conservative Beacon, agrees:
“The military is still mired in this murderous political correctness,” Mr. Emerson said, adding that religion, contrary to what Mr. West said, is “every part of the problem” in the shootings.
“Hassan’s jihadist beliefs were that infidels should be killed in the military,” Mr. Emerson said.
But Robert Gates, Mike Mullen, Janet Napolitano and Chairman Obama himself will not acknowledge this fact. And actually, Gen. George Casey essentially defended political correctness and the mentality in the military that allowed the attack to take place when he said the following late last year:
“I’m concerned that this increased speculation could cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers. And I’ve asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that,” Casey told CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse,” Casey said. (My emphasis)
The fear of offending Muslim soldiers and Muslims as a whole allowed the attack on Ft. Hood to take place, Gen. Casey! It was this fear that prevented Hasan’s superiors from doing their jobs.
This is the environment that political correctness has created. I’m going to restate the phrase I coined last week: Political correctness is enabling terrorism. It’s not causing terrorism, but it’s allowing it at best and encouraging it at worst.
Political correctness is enabling terrorism.
