Scott Brown’s Massachusetts Senate victory proves that conservatives can win anywhere

Last night, a conservative–a true conservative–won a Senate seat from Massachusetts, a state with the following electoral breakdown:

Scott Brown won victory from a state that repeatedly elected Ted Kennedy and still elects John Kerry. He won in a state that overwhelming voted for Barack Obama. This is a state, Massachusets, that could be legitimately characterized as being more liberal than California and New York.

Scott Brown, a true conservative, just won Massachusetts 52% to 47%. And he did so with strong support for his conservative positions on the issues. 76% of those who voted for Brown said that they were voting for Brown, not against Martha Coakley. To fully appreciate how impressive and important that is, please take another look at the registered voters breakdown in Massachusetts.

I want the RINOs, the RNC, and the Republican political consultants to tell me that conservatism only wins in the South and Midwest–that it takes a moderate-to-liberal Republican candidate to win in every other part of the country. If conservatism can win in uber-liberal Massachusetts, it can win in any county, district, and state across this America.

Scott Brown’s win is a victory for conservatism, and it’s proof that when Republican candidates run as conservatives, they win.
