<p><a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/17/business/economy/17gridlock.html?hp"><em>New York Times</em> blames</a> Republicans and their partisanship for looming debt crisis, but assigns no blame to President Obama. Yes, President Bush and Republicans are partly to blame for the debt but so is President Obama: $800 bn. stimulus ring a bell? How about $1.6 bn. budget deficit? I&#8217;d say those contributed to the debt crisis.</p>
<p>Foreign demand for U.S. Treasuries <a href="http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/49639438-1b21-11df-953f-00144feab49a.html">declines at record pace.</a> Timothy Geithner was wrong: Foreign countries won&#8217;t always flock to U.S. Securities in times of global economic troubles. But less foreign ownership of our debt is not entirely bad; it&#8217;s good for U.S. sovereignty. </p>
<p>Saudis to <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,586117,00.html">release former GITMO detainee</a> who went through &#8220;jihadi rehab.&#8221; What are the odds he returns to waging jihad against the infidels?</p>

<p>He&#8217;s in agreement with me that Taliban so-called &#8220;reconciliation&#8221; is nothing more than bribery. He also describes our counterinsurgency strategy as &#8220;touch-feely.&#8221; He&#8217;s spot on. </p>
